While the study examines the current state of Black workers in the private sector economy, they also strongly suggest that companies take a leadership position in terms of DEI. Specifically, they lay out three next step priorities that all companies should pursue to be successful in their DEI approach:

1. “Share best practices on effective programs”
2. “Pursue collaborative efforts to galvanize collective action”
3. “Commit to continued investment and research”
